As specialist offsite construction designers we help our clients design efficiency into their buildings by considering all offsite construction systems and design for manufacturing & assembly (DfMA) methodologies to ensure the optimum solution is reached.

A single point of project coordination

From feasibility and conceptual design through to planning and technical design, all the way through to handover of the completed building, our team of highly skilled architects and technicians are uniquely trained to ensure that your project benefits from the optimal offsite approach.  Our team understands the design intricacies of flat-pack through to fully-finished modular, with experience in timber, steel, concrete and SIP building systems.  Engaging us as Lead Designers on your project means that we will manage and co-ordinate all other design activities within your project.  The first thing we’ll do is work with you to fully determine our scope in such a role since in our experience we offer most benefit to our clients when we take a Lead Design role though we also often sit client-side as specialist designers and we do understand that often other consultants are already engaged.

Lowering barriers of entry

We’ve coined the term “system flipping” which describes a new approach to architectural design.  If a site is designed around traditional construction systems such as brick and block up to stage 3 or planning submission, it becomes almost impossible to economically apply an offsite building system to the design as the project progresses.  This limits procurement strategies and limits your options.  “System flipping” starts with an approach to design that ensures your planning application doesn’t constrain your choice of traditional AND offsite procurement routes later.  Our revolutionary and unique approach is built from years of experience in our sector and represents a huge leap forward in opening up the possibilities in offsite construction to developers and manufacturers.

Accurate costs and design programme

We take a fully developed design and develop the specific details of each component e.g. exactly how the window sill will fit to the window frames etc. We ensure our technical design work suits the manufacturing system developed in the earlier design stages and the design is compliant with all regulations and can obtain the necessary warranty approval and accreditation’s. Our value engineering approach generates positive improvements to the project by optimising both the product and the manufacturing process by developing the DfMA components more accurately to consider all fabrication implications including lifting, handling and transportation. By integrating digital systems such as virtual engineering and BIM we can ensure that all architectural, structural, building services (MEP), specialist subcontractor information meets the clients information requirements allowing us to prepare very accurate costs and design programme.
